Here’s something odd. I have purposely avoided writing about sexual topics - that I recall. Not because I have this plan to have a fluffy, cuddly site. Not because I find it distasteful (I don’t). But simply because I have no wish to write about it. Your sex life, and my sex life, is completely private and I don’t wish to inform the world about it. Just assume I’m a total stud and you won’t go far wrong.
Because I’m a sad type, I installed a plugin called Wordpress.com Stats (and yes, I am well aware that this is not on Wordpress.com) to see, well, stats on the site. It is written and maintained by Andy Skelton and, in line with most Wordpress plugins, is easy to install/upgrade and does what it says on the tin. This plugin shows things like a pretty graph to show your hits over various time periods and what people click on.
How do these two paragraphs relate? Well I’m glad you asked. Looking at my stats, I was unsurprised to see that I have few hits. Not bothered. I’m not doing this for a living. I was, however, completely surprised to see that over the last two days 107 people have visited my site after searching for variations on the word “lesbians”. Furthermore, one of the links people click to get to my site is from lexic.us - and online dictionary and thesaurus - and is, you guessed it, “lesbians“.

Dead Like Me is back on TV. Us UK types can catch it on the Sci-Fi channel. This is a very blackly funny show about the daily lives of a team of grim reapers. The team help certain people pass over to the other side.
The humour comes because they have to also live their daily lives - have jobs, love lives and so on. The deaths are often gruesome and always unexpected. And the stories are often touching.
The tales are largey told from the perspective of Georgia - a young woman killed when a toilet fell from the Mir Space Station and then recruited to reaperdom. They are all very cynical and dry and always funny. More info from Wikipedia and from a fan site.

This book was first seen on the internet, the author followed up by self-publishing it and then a publisher picked it up. It’s origins do show in the writing and the pace, however towards the middle of the book it settles down nicely and becomes a fast paced well-written humourous book.
The book tells the tale of “The Book With No Name”, the Eye of the Moon and how they both affect the people and events of Santa Mondega - a town that’s not on any map and which is forgotten by the outside world. The legend has it that anyone who reads the Book dies shortly afterwards. The Bourbon Kid arrives before massacring hundreds of people, there are bounty hunters, hitmen, cops, monks, amnesiac women, killers aplenty and many many pop culture references. The blurb describes it as “Tarantino meets The Da Vinci Code” and reading through a few chapters shows this is an apt description.
The chapters are short and punchy and full of action. The humour comes fast without overcoming the action and tale. So much happens that it’s difficult to describe it and still do it justice. All I can say is read the book - just don’t blame me for what happens afterwards…….

I love random humour and I know you do too. So here are some comics that made me laugh:

That one (and others) can be found at Raymondo Person by Patrick Alexander. Thanks to Untwisted Vortex for publicising this one.
